Street Fighter X Tekken screens and trailers reveal six new fighters
by Xav de Matos, Apr 12, 2011 11:15am PDTThe first title in the surprise Capcom and Namco Bandai partnership series is back in the news today, with a look at six new combatants ready to take the stage in Street Fighter X Tekken.
The latest trailers and screenshots for the fighting title show Ken, Guile, and Abel from Capcom's universe and Bob, King, and Marduk from Tekken have been given the nod to enter the upcoming fray.
The gameplay trailer for Street Fighter X Tekken shows the new characters in action along with known roster additions Ryu, Chun-Li, Nina, and Kazuya.
Since being announced at Comic-Con 2010, information for the crossover series has been sparse. Capcom will handle development duties of Street Fighter X Tekken, utilizing a similar style found in Street Fighter IV. Namco Bandai will then take the reins on its own version of the battle, in Tekken X Street Fighter.
Namco Bandai has yet to reveal Tekken X Street Fighter, which "will feature 'Street Fighter' characters bringing the fight to the 'Tekken' world."
Partnering both companies for such an endeavor has certainly piqued the interest of fighting game fans, who have recently been experiencing (the horrible phrase known as) an embarrassment of riches in terms of quality fighters.
Street Fighter X Tekken is planned for a 2012 release on the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
