Mass Effect 2: Arrival trailer marks DLC launch

A new trailer gives a teasing peek at the Mass Effect 2: Arrival DLC, which leads into Mass Effect 3 and launches today.

The final piece of Mass Effect 2 downloadable content, Arrival, launches today for all three platforms. In celebration, BioWare has released a trailer giving a peek at just what Shepard will be getting herself into. There's also a lot of some boring shaven-headed chap in N7 armour, for some reason.

Arrival leads into the Reaper invasion of Earth in Mass Effect 3, sending Shepard on a mission to rescue an undercover operative with evidence of the Reaper's plans. She also gets a look at Lance Henriksen's character, Admiral Hackett of the Alliance Navy, who has only been present as a voice so far.

Arrival costs $7 (560 Microsoft Points; 560 BioWare Points) and is already available for Xbox 360. It'll hit PC and PlayStation 3 later today. Mass Effect 3 is scheduled for the 2011 holiday season.

I know this has been asked a million times before, but what other DLC is must have? If I'm going to go through this bioware points bullshit, I might as well make it worthwhile.

Must have: Lair of the Shadow Broker
        Recommended: Kasumi
Fun, but last on the list nonetheless: Overlord

Kasumi is good as is Shadow Broker.

Overlord has no bearing at all on the story and is entirely skippable.

"Lair of the shadow broker". The rest were pretty "meh", but some people apparently liked them too...

Overlord is an excellent side quest that's tells a better story than most of the main game content. It's easily my favourite.

Kasumi's a bunch of fun both as a sidequest and a party member.

Shadow Broker's really the only must have. Not because it's necessarily the best, but because it's the only one that relates to the main plot arc.

All three are worth it for different reasons. Depends what you like about Mass Effect.
