Rumored Mortal Kombat roster and DLC characters appear

Reports from the weekend seem to have leaked the full Mortal Kombat roster, along with the first two DLC characters to expect from the bloody fighter.

We may have a clearer idea of the full roster in Mortal Kombat, thanks to a leaked snapshot. A forum post on Mortal Kombat United shows off 26 characters with two empty slots. Most are recognizable faces from Mortal Kombat lore, but the image includes a few surprises, including a large look at a Cyborg version of Sub-Zero. It's unclear exactly where the Cyborg Sub-Zero would be selected, since he doesn't appear to have his own slot on the select screen. The full roster includes:

Scorpion, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Sub-Zero

    Sindel, Ermac, Reptile, Kitana

    Johnny Cage, Jade, Mileena, Nightwolf

    Cyrax, Noob Saibot, Smoke, Sektor

    Sonya, Jax, Kano, Stryker

    Shang Tsung, Baraka, Kabal, Raiden

    Sheeva, Quan Chi

The two empty spots may be filled with downloadable content. Joystiq reports that Netherrealm's Hans Lo revealed two characters slated for the first bit of DLC: Kenshi, and Scarlet. Oddly, the original report came from CVG, but has apparently been pulled.

Kenshi is a fan favorite, pitched as a possibility when creator Ed Boon tweeted an informal poll asking which characters to include as DLC. Scarlet, meanwhile, is an homage to a glitch in old arcade machines that would turn the female ninja characters' costumes red. This time she'll be a full character, complete with her own story.

File these both under 'rumor' for now, until we hear official word from Netherrealm or WB Games.

too bad this roster doesn't show Kabal, who has already been confirmed and seen on Spike.

if you watch the most recent tv trailer, Shang Tsung appears with long white hair and a white beard, but maybe he has alternate costumes. the trailer also shows a silouette breifly just after Shang Tsung, which I personally believe to be Sonya Blade.

It is also well known that Gorro is in this game, which isn't being shown here either.

In other words, i hearby declare this image is FAKE

I bought Crysis 2 and downloaded the MK demo in the same day, therefore I've barely touched Crysis 2.

Meh, it seems pretty logical for me for those two "empty" slots to be the random character pickers. Ok so I can't explain why there'd be two.
