PC strategy title Dungeons is getting a new downloadable content pack, titled "Into the Dark." Developer Realmforge announced the DLC pack today, set to launch on March 28 for $3.99. It will be available directly through the game or "most portals."

The pack includes a new mission lasting about an hour and a half, 10 new sandbox maps, and 19 prestige gimmicks. Not too shabby for four bucks.

Dungeons stars an evil Dungeon Lord displaced by the machinations of his apparently even more evil ex-girlfriend, as he attempts to reclaim his rightful place at the bottom of the underworld. The game received mixed reviews, but if you enjoyed the adventure, you might dig some fresh dungeon-crawling.

Cool to see this game getting some cheap DLC. I do think they shot themselves in the foot by advertising as more of a successor to Dungeon Keeper. Dungeons is its own game and by so closely tying itself to DK it was misrepresented. I love the base-building genre of games (DK, Evil Genius, Startopia), but I hope the mediocrity of Dungeons doesn't continue to keep the genre stagnant.
