Dawn of War 2 - Retribution Last Stand mode getting new items, achievements
by Alice O'Connor, Mar 22, 2011 6:30am PDTAfter releasing bonus items for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution's single-player side as paid downloadable content on launch day, publisher THQ has now announced that new wargear is coming to the co-op survival mode Last Stand in a free update.
The update will add a dozen new Steam achievements to Last Stand mode, each of which will unlock a new piece of wargear. THQ expects the update to launch on April 6.
Last Stand sees up to three players fighting through waves of increasingly tough enemies in a small arena and aiming to set a high score, each controlling one Hero unit. Players can customise their Hero with a range of weapons items ability-granting items, with more unlocked through a persistent progression system.
Retribution launched exclusively for PC on March 1, developed by Relic Entertainment. The first two games in the Dawn of War II series both received heaps of free content updates, ranging from new multiplayer maps to the Last Stand mode itself.
