A sure sign that Valve is set to launch a new title is the release of a television commercial for the product in question. Luckily for gamers eagerly anticipating Portal 2, Valve has just released a TV spot for the upcoming title.

Featuring co-op mode stars Atlas and P-Body, the television trailer shows off some of the classic Portal-style fun players can expect when the sequel launches.

If you're looking to learn more about the game's single-player story, our recent preview from PAX East 2011 describes the game's start. However, if you'd prefer not to have the experience spoiled, just cycle through our screenshot gallery while you count the days until the game's April 19 release.

This is the one Valve produced internally?

Can't wait.... Really liking the coop aspect of this game will give it even longer playtime!

Nice! And yes all of the advertising is being developed internally by Valve after how "disappointed" they were with outside advertising companies.

As the old saying goes, if you want it done right do it yourself.

I'm not going to lie - I didn't think this commercial was going to be good.

Then I heard GladOS and literally - LITERALLY - got chills.

      FUCK YES, VALVE. I BELIEVE.

That's a commercial my wife could see, think was cute, figure out what the gimmick is with the game, and want to play it.

      Well done.

It's not even that it's "cute". It's that it portrays the actual game and the world without straying from the subject matter like most videogame commercials do. Which either are some ham-fisted live-action schlock or some corny-ass "sad song" over footage of the game.

Yeah, that's a good ad. It shows exactly what the game is in 30 seconds.

        Well, E10+

I know it's not a direct analogue but it's sort of like the ESRB's version of a PG rating.

Plus if you think about it there's probably not going to be any blood or humans killed in this game. When you die there's not going to be visible blood and the co-op mode uses robots.

Portal had blood, although you could do away with it and not really change the game that much. It was rated T. I assume that means they're going to tone down the grimness a bit.

I love how Valve did this themselves because the agency pitches were all shit. It's great! Really fun and conveys the humour and puzzling of the game perfectly.

This is the first media I've seen for Portal 2 - I've been purposely avoiding it - and now I seriously can't wait. That was awesome.

Same, I can't wait to give away my cash for this. Valve give us more stuff more often.
