81, as long as you know Glide is dead, that's cool. After UT (which the GF1/2 will at least run if not fast), Glide will be buried 12 feet deep in the bottom of the ocean. Besides Tribes, I don't really know of any recent Glide only games, or games other than UT that Glide is so much better than OpenGL.

It is very unlikely you will ever see another Glide only game, or even a game that Glide will give a significant advantage over OpenGL or DirectX. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if you see a total lack of Glide support.

You can't with with anything these days. You say something about this, and one group rips you appart. You say that, then they other group does the same. Personally, I wouldn't mind arguments, but ones that actually contain some inteligance behind them. Arguing with Nvidia zealots or 3dfx zeaots is useless. You can't win no matter what you say. I read that GameSpot Behind The Game thing about Daikatana. Pretty damn good, although a bit long. I didn't know Daikatana had that good of a story-line, dammit.

After reading that I feel as if The Romero is getting a lot of shit he didn't deserve, but some stuff does that to you, heh.

I need a singleplayer game that'll hold my attention. SoF's plotline was so yawn-inducing that I didn't even bother finishing it.

I give it about a 5 and then when I think about how much it was hyped and how great they said it would be I think 4.5 then when I think how long this mother was in production for I think 4.0. Color me biased because I know I am, all the hype and all the problems this game had has changed what I think of it. Even if it was on time and didn't have all the marketing hype I would still say it is a "bad to average title" but because it did have all that crap happen I have to say it is a "POS"

no i don't want or care for a geforce card, i like glide and still play some glide games. poor old voodoo2 is tired so i want to retire it and keep glide and all the new stuff support. i am going with v5-5500. i appreciate your concern that i might not have the 'fastest' card on the market, but it does what I (thats me and not any of you other fuck-o's) want it to do.

On a somewhat off-topic post, I saw something interesting at http://www.nvnews.net/ ("Fans Are Important!", 2/5ths of the way down). Apparently some guy's Creative GeForce fan failed, and fried his card. Funny thing is, the same thing happened to a friend of mine 2 weeks ago. Around that time, I checked my fan and found it had also failed. Lucky for me, I had mounted a big case fan onto the side of my GeForce for stability purposes. Perhaps Creative was in a rush to be the first GeForce into the market, and neglected checking the reliabilty of their fan?
Regardless, my next purchase will be Hercules. :P

I have 10 old ass fans in my case ripped from old power supplies out of 386s and 486s, and some old CPU fans all rigged inside. I haven't had one fail yet, gee how weird.

Maybe its your enviroment? Do you smoke infront of your computer? Is your area real dusty?

I do clean them every once in a while though...

3dfx killed their biggest fan... I got a Creative G2 GTS on it's way to me, so I don't wanna hear any more of this fanboy shit....
