After a long delay, Sony has announced that Free Realms will come to the PlayStation 3 on March 29. The casual mini-game MMO is free-to-play (hence the name), relying on premium memberships and micro-transactions for its revenue. The free model has worked in its favor, giving it 17 million registered users.

Sony announced that it would come to PS3 almost three years ago. It's been available on the PC since its launch in 2009. If you've really been holding out for the PS3 version, for some reason, the wait is finally almost over.

Free Realms is nothing special, but the casual MMO atmosphere is a breath of fresh air and there are plenty of mini-games to dick around with. I'm actually kind of glad that this will be coming to the PSN because it will be easier for my wife to enjoy this game since she gets so confused with computer games.
