Team Fortress 2 gets Shogun 2-themed items
by Alice O'Connor, Mar 11, 2011 7:00am PSTBonus Team Fortress 2 items are a popular promotional tool nowadays, used by games including Poker Night at the Inventory, Rift Monday Night Combat and Killing Floor. Total War: Shogun 2 is the latest to join in on the fun, with an eight-pack of feudal Japan-inspired items for Valve's shooter up for grabs if you pre-order The Creative Assembly's historical strategy game.
The Shogun Pack's eight items, created by community member 'larolaro,' include samurai swords, a top knot and demon mask. You can nab the whole lot by pre-ordering Shogun 2 from Steam, though they'll also be sold in TF2's Mann Co. Store and be available through drops and crafting.
Total War: Shogun 2 is slated to launch for PC next Tuesday, March 15. Sega is publishing.

To be honest, I was a HUGE shogun fan, and I played the shit out of Rome:Total war...but ever since Rome, and even when rome:tw was release - the games have been incredibly buggy initially. I actually bought Medeivel 2: TW, but only played it for 3 hours because it was so buggy on release day.
Then I bought empire: TW like an idiot and THAT game was un-fucking-playable for MONTHS after it's release; random crashes, dumb AI shit like no assaults via boats, etc etc....it really frustrated me and it made me lose faith in creative assembly. At this point i think i'll just wait for it to be released and wait to see how many people complain about the buggyness rather than subject myself to being a beta tester AGAIN.
