Deus Ex: Human Revolution due in August

The much-anticipated prequel Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be released on August 23 in North America, it's been confirmed.

An August launch for Deus Ex: Human Revolution has been revealed through the unusual--and often inaccurate--medium of a GameStop listing. Developer Eidos Montreal has confirmed this as correct via Twitter.

The prequel to Ion Storm's seminal Deus Ex will be released in North America on August 23 and hit the UK on August 26. Human Revolution was once due to launch before the end of March this year but publisher Square Enix revealed in December 2010 that it had been delayed to allow for "further polish."

Deus Ex: Human Revolution will hit PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. For more on the game, check out our recent two-part hands-on preview.

It uses the Tomb Raider: Underworld engine, right? It's in my backlog but I haven't tried it yet. Guess it's modified for DX3 but what's it like, performance wise?

Hmm, was hoping this game was going to come out sooner. Plenty of time to figure out where to pre-order from. Maybe they will have the Deus Ex JC Denton Blow Handy edition by August.

It also gives time for the "Sandy Bridge or Bulldozer?" question to be answered.

If my 280gtx holds up till August this game seems to be upgrade worthy. This and BF3. :)

Without a doubt this will be the year of direct x11 and is a good year to upgrade.

Agreed. My 4850 held up well the past few years, but with all these top grade games, I think it's about time to let it retire and replace it. Though I still want to wait for the Radeon 7800 series for a 3rd generation DX11 card. Should likely come out by December, if not sooner.

As much I as I really want this game, I'm glad it got delayed. Between Shogun 2, Crysis 2, Homefront and everything else that comes out until May, it's good to spread releases out so we have time for each.

I'm so pumped for this title! They could delay it for years and I wouldn't care...
