GDC: New Super Mario game announced for 3DS
by Alice O'Connor, Mar 02, 2011 11:45am PSTA new Super Mario game for the 3DS was announced today by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata during his keynote speech at GDC 2011. Development is being handled by the team behind Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel.
Iwata noted that the 3D display on the 3DS will help players better understand and navigate 3D spaces, letting developers create any world they could imagine. He also drew attention to the tail hanging from the game's placeholder logo, saying that it would be explained at E3. Could this be the return of Racoon Mario?
There's no word yet on when the game will be released, nor even its name.
