by Steve Watts, Mar 02, 2011 11:15am PSTNintendo is aiming to make its 3DS online content easy to access, today announcing a partnership with AT&T to provide 10,000 WiFi hotspots across North America. The announcement came during Nintendo president Satoru Iwata's keynote address.
It will come alongside a May system update to connect to the hotspots automatically for users who have enabled the SpotPass system. This will let players download content automatically while walking through locations like restaurants, book stores, and coffee shops. The hotspots will also allow users to access the eShop, online multiplayer and other online features.
This comes alongside an announcement that Nintendo has partnered with Netflix for movie support on the 3DS.
