The video game release list of 2/28-3/6

Rift, new Pokémon, Beyond Good & Evil HD, Dawn of War II - Retribution and more are out next week. Gotta catch 'em all, as they say.

The wheels of progress turn slowly but surely and while Release List might look a bit barebones for now, rest assured that this will have no effect upon the actual games being released next week. We'll be bouncing along merrily, better than ever, as soon as possible. As the saying goes, "there'll always be video games."

PC

Xbox 360

PlayStation 3

Nintendo DS

Wii

Can we verify the B&GE HD release?

I just checked as I saw this yesterday, but the Xbox Live promo blade says March 9 (with Torchlight and Poker also a week later than planned) I know all the news stories I just checked say the 2nd (back when this was announced), so I don't know if plans changed or a console monkey screwed up on the screens.

Microsoft announced the schedule for the "House Party" promo a while back. Here's the link to our coverage: http://www.shacknews.com/article/67439/xbla-house-party-games-priced

Oh, I know it was announced with that schedule. And I've seen nothing -save for what the Dash is reporting -to indicate a change.

We'll likely know for sure today or tomorrow when Major Nelson posts the week's release schedule.

Despite MS's announcement the dates for the House Party releases seem to be in flux.

No doubt the games will just come out when they come out.. give or take a week or so.

Gah. The main thing I hate about this new layout is they totally ditched the Tags aspect of the site. I used to have a bookmark that lead directly to these so I can easily see when they put a new one up and now it leads to a random listing of stories. Makes it a lot less convenient for me. :/

I agree with you D, it is rather frustrating. It is cleaner looking I'll admit, but as far as tagging and a consistent bookmark it is annoying.

Alos, I just plain miss the cool box art. That was what made it more than a plain list.......and now it is a plain list.

I miss the box cover art of the games for the video game release list. Made it much faster to see what was coming out. Plus the added benefit of knowing what to look for on the shelf.

Release List looks this way this week due to trouble with the old code in the new site. This certainly isn't the final look.

Yes, I also really miss the covers. The weekly release list is one thing I checked the most in recent years in Shack and it was always really easy and cool to see the game covers on these posts.

      Nom nom nom, Fight Night.

I dunno if I can go back to Fight Night after playing Fight: Lights Out on move though... there is something just a lot more satisfying about throwing my own punches than flicking on the twin-sticks.

See, when people talk shit about the Wii it's clear they haven't taken a look at some of their AAA/GOTY titles like "Chuck-e-Cheese's Sports Games."

Don't even fucking talk about the Wii if you have played this game, because you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. This is a serious platform with serious games.

Can someone give their impression of Beyond Good and Evil? Why so much hype over this game?

I am contemplating buying it but I am unsure why I would want to (if that makes sense).

I havent played the PC version when it came out way back when (2006?).

Why would I want to buy this now? Please advise. Thanks

It has the best first fifteen minutes in gaming history, followed by the worst fifteen minutes of gaming (but still great character and world development), followed by one of the most endearing storylines ever coupled with tight gameplay, responsive controls, and one of the most well thought-out worlds ever.

How do you use tags in the new Shacknews-layout? I'm trying to use "PC" tag but it won't work, and there are no "PC" tag links on the front page like there used to be, a list of "popular tags". Anyone?
