Grab your wizard hat and robe, ladies and gentlemen, because Fable 3 has a release date for the PC.

Xbox Live's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb revealed that the PC version of the Lionhead-developed role-playing game will launch on May 17.

Included in the PC version is support for NVIDIA's 3D Vision--though the game's 3D rating was not revealed--as well as an exclusive "hardcore mode." As you may have guessed, the new mode offers players a higher level of difficulty.

The blog post also revealed that a new set of downloadable content will arrive for the Xbox 360 version of the RPG. "Traitor's Keep" launches on March 1 for 560MS Points ($7), and adds three new levels: Ravenscar Keep, Clockwork Island, and the Godwin Estate. The DLC includes new quests, characters, and 250 GamerScore points.

We've also added a bundle of new screens for Traitor's Keep, so take a look if you're interesting in continuing your adventure.

The Godwin Estate? I'll be highly disappointed if it doesn't include a Nazi joke somewhere.

Each of the Fable games takes 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. 3 is a lot like 2 but they simplified the combat even more and removed a lot of the NPC interaction stuff, but added some nice stuff like the property management map.

Any graphical upgrades? The 3D vision does not count.

DX10 or 11, high res textures etc, I need to know?

Probably no to all hey :(

Yes. I enjoyed playing Fable/Fable 2 (Fable 2 was the ONLY console game for which I purchased DLC). Fable 3 was just awful.

I enjoyed both Fable 1 and Fable 2 and while Fable 3 is technically very similar to 2 I really didn't find myself enjoying it that much. I plan to sell it or trade it at some point.

Fable 3 was amazing in one way. They somehow managed to take the work they did on Fable 2 and retroactively half-ass it.

I liked 2 better. F3 looks nice and it's easier to manage property, but deterioration mechanic is lame. I guess all that gold needs to be spent somewhere.

Very much so, things are just kind of, broken. Character morphs are all but gone, your dog is now a useless annoyance, character interaction is annoying and unfun, combat is better in some ways but worse than others and when you get to be "king" the game just turns to suck.

I loved Fable 2, and I liked Fable 3 but it felt like they changed certain things just for the sake of changing them, rather than advancing it. Still a wonderful world to play in though.

I've played Fable3 on my XBox360... Once. After that, I sold the game to some retard and tried to think of it as a "bad dream". Don't care if (and when) it will come to PC, even if it will be with higher-res textures and fixed performance/graphics issues.

With Dragon Age 2, Witcher 2 and Skyrim coming out this year, Fable 3 will so utterly bomb on PC it's not even funny... oh wait, it actually is; fucking hilarious!

And so is the new layout btw. Another blog gone down the drain. Oh well, at least there's still RPS...

And microsoft will point to the failure of Fable 3 for the pc as a reason why they don't port their better games.

Microsoft only has their self to blame if fails. If they had released the PC port at the same time as the 360 version when interest was still high for the game it probably would do better.

The continual delays and platform exclusive DLC is what is going to hurt ports like this.

After keeping Fable 2 exclusive to XBox, now they are throwing a bone to PC gamers and hoping that its enough to reconcile. So stupid.

I didn't think fable 3 was BAD, necessarily. I thought that it was a little ... constrained. I wish they'd just go the full retard with the open world idea, rather than the semi-open world feeling.

I enjoyed the idea of the vault quite a bit in Fable 3, and I also enjoyed the rise to power part of the plot ... but without spoiling it too much, the "rise to power" part of the game is really only the first half of the game, and the second half isn't nearly as compelling (unfortunately).

Still, it's eye pleasing, and it's fun. Worth a bargain purchase for sure.
