Gears of War 3 Launches September 20
by Xav de Matos, Feb 23, 2011 7:30am PSTAfter being delayed from its planned April 2011 release, the bromance between lead characters Marcus and Dom has finally procured a new release date. Gears of War 3 will emerge on September 20, Microsoft revealed.
The announcement comes hot off the heels of Epic's newly released People Can Fly-developed shooter, Bulletstorm. Though we're not sure the language will be as colorful in Gears of War 3, it's safe to assume that the game will be comparable to Bulletstorm in terms of pints of blood exploding throughout the world.
Bulletstorm purchasers on the Xbox 360 will get to see the updated deep red colors of a tweaked Unreal Engine 3 when the game's included Gears of War 3 beta access is activated. Epic hasn't revealed when the beta will begin but at least we know when it won't happen: namely, after September 20.

Microsoft has a weak line-up this year not including kinect. I’m worried and I think instead of paying millions to get a COD map pack early they should spend the money on new IP’s. Loads or people have gold accounts on LIVE but they need to add new features to keep people paying, here in the UK there’s really not much and we can’t even get BBC iplayer because Microsoft doesn’t want silver members being able to access free streams and the BBC does. I hear Sony might give PlayStation Pro subscribers the ability to back up games online, Microsoft should look to do the same, In another 5 years we might just have phones as powerful as the PS3, a 10 year console cycle might be too long. I’ve got to say though the windows phone 7 with kinect integration tech demo really did look kinda cool.
