Telltale Announces New King's Quest Game, Puzzle Agent 2, Hector: Badge of Carnage

Telltale's announcements keep on rolling, with the adventure game developer now revealing another three new projects. As well as a sequel to Puzzle Agent, Telltale is working on Hector: Badge of Carnage and a new King's Quest game.

According to IGN, the new King's Quest will be a reboot of the franchise. The celebrated adventure game series, designed by Roberta Williams, received eight instalments over eighteen years before petering out. It was recently revived by fans in The Silvering Lining, a free episodic game sanctioned by property owner Activision.

Puzzle Agent 2 follows on from the first Professor Layton-ish game and will conclude the 'Scoggins' story, according to Telltale community manager Alan Johnson. It'll be released this summer on PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad and PlayStation Network. The original is also headed to PSN this spring.

Hector: Badge of Carnage is not actually a new game but rather a port of an iPhone title developed by Straandlooper and released on iPhone in June 2010. It's described as a "lewd, crude and gritty law enforcement comedy," starring a "flawed, misanthropic anti-hero with an unhealthy taste for all things criminal, corrupt or smothered with curry sauce." Naturally, he's a London copper. Telltale's working with Straandlooper to it to PC, Mac and iPad this spring, and creating another two Hector episodes.

That's it from Telltale as far as announcements go, for now at least. Five new projects were unveiled at a press event yesterday, then gradually revealed over the past day. The other two are games based upon comic books The Walking Dead and Fables. Telltale also revealed that the first episode of Jurassic Park: The Game will launch in April.

It's awesome that Telltale is doing a new King's Quest game along with so many other games but I wish the King's Quest game wasn't a reboot. I guess that's needed though when King Graham was pretty old by the end of the series.

Of course I'm buying it though like all of Telltale's other episodic games because I'm a huge fan of them.

The story got terrible after IV. The series needed a rebooted back then.

VIII practically ignored the prior story.

Parts of it did, parts of it didn't. That game was such a mess.

I really liked VI. Was there something in particular that you disliked, or did it just not mesh well with the others (even though it was way off and not really connected to Daventry)?

V and VI were my favorite games in the series. There was so much attention to detail in them.
