This week we've got 3 Xbox360 Kinect games up for grabs. Kinect Joy Ride, Kinect Adventures, and Kinectimals. I know how excited you all are about this but try to contain yourselves.

Happy Friday Shack. Quite a lively thread yesterday in response to my post about the impending Shackpocalypse. Thanks to all for the generally high level of discussion and for many good suggestions. The two big requests from the Shack were 1) to find some way to keep Shackpics and 2) to bring back profile pages. We're discussing Shackpics internally to see if we can find some solution given that we aren't going to support it in the new infrastructure. As for profile pages, they have been on the post-launch roadmap all along, so maybe know they move to higher priority.

Non-Fiction Mens:

So that story yesterday someone linked about the terrorist hunter in Iraq (link for those who missed it: http://www.esquire.com/features/iraq-terrorist-hunter-0311-3 ) reminded me of desire I have had for awhile in regards to asking the shack for recommendations regarding non-fiction stuff like this.

I really find the cold war era interesting, but really anything like this with neat "secret" stories or just actual political intrigue/espionage, etc would be great. I've read a ton of stuff on wikipedia about Mossad and the like, but I figure there are probably plenty of interesting non fiction books out there, so I am asking you all for your advice.

As far as I understand, it has been decided not to reschedule. However, I made a mistake and based on various misunderstandings assumed that things were going to be rescheduled. Now I have made other plans for the weekend.

Ugh. After buying 2 2TB WD and 2 2TB Seagate drives installing them with a 3ware RAID controller I get errors on one of the drives. Call the shop where I bought the drives and they say, "Oh yeah, you can't use those in a RAID because WD disabled TLER. Guess the clerk should have told you that." Fuckers.

MS Vail, or WHS2011 as it's known, gimped in my opinion because it LACKS Drive Extender, now potentially getting it via a 3rd party add-in? I love the opening of a good story. The first lines can really set the mood of the work. Here are some examples (some famous, others not so much). Can you name them all without cheating? What are some of your favorite openings in literature?
