Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Call of Duty Black Ops, and Limbo Top BAFTA 2010 Nominations

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced its Video Game Awards nominees. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood leads the pack with a Best Game nomination and nods in six other categories. Other nominees for Best Game include FIFA 11, Heavy Rain, Limbo, Mass Effect 2, and Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Call of Duty: Black Ops received high marks with seven nominations but wasn't given the nod as a Best Game nominee, while indie darling Limbo received four on top of the the Best Game nomination. The Shacknews Game of the Year, Red Dead Redemption, was only nominated for the publicly voted "GAME Award," proving once and for all that Brits don't like cowboys.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on March 16, streamed live from the BAFTA site for those interested in viewing the proceedings. Check out a full list of categories and nominees after the break.
