          I think it's more along the lines of how this particular developer was known to be terrible at patching and I didn't find out until later. There were quite a few people complaining both in the Steam forums as well as their forums.
          
          For your entertainment purposes, I bring you the RFG Steam forum. Each page has complaints regarding the patching process and discussions on working around it.
