Duke Nukem Forever Balls of Steel Edition Announced [Update: It's $100]
by Alice O'Connor, Feb 11, 2011 5:45am PST[Update: 08:56] Publisher 2K Games has confirmed that the Balls of Steel Edition will cost $99.99 and, in the US, be sold exclusively by GameStop and Amazon. There's no mention of retailer exclusivity in Europe. We also have a better picture of its contents.
[Original] Duke Nukem Forever has a release date, Garnett played it earlier this week, and now a special edition has been announced; it almost seems as if it's actually coming out.
The 'Balls of Steel Edition,' which has yet to be priced, packs goodies including a bust of Duke himself, a 100-page hardcover art book, poker chips, dice and more.
The Balls of Steel Edition will arrive for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 alongside the regular edition on May 3, though apparently quantities will be limited. While 2K has not confirmed quite what "limited" means, if you peek carefully at the image of its contents, you might just notice that the numbered certificate of authenticity reads "of 2,000."
Word of the special edition originally leaked out yesterday, then it was officially announced this morning to members of the Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club.
Here's a list of all you'll find in Duke's Balls of Steel Edition:
- Collectible bust of the greatest ass-kicker of all-time
- Numbered limited edition certificate of authenticity
- 100-page hardcover book: 'History, Legacy & Legend: Duke Nukem Forever Art from the Vault'
- Duke Nukem Forever postcard series
- Duke Nukem Forever radioactive emblem sticker
- Duke Nukem Forever collectable comic book
- Duke Nukem Forever foldable paper craft
- Duke Nukem Forever poker chips
- Duke Nukem Forever mini-card deck
- Duke Nukem Forever radioactive emblem dice
