Atomic Games has sent word that a PC patch--presumably developed at a secret military complex--for its recently released shooter Breach is currently available to help reduce multiplayer lag.

The patch's secondary mission is to give players the ability to launch dedicated servers without requiring Steam to be executed. More information on server functionality can be found on the official Breach forum.

Atomic Games also noted a patch for the game's console version is planned for release soon; however, the developer did not detail what would be the focus of that update.

A breakdown of the patch notes can be found after the break. Breach was released on the Xbox 360 and PC on January 26.

I played the Xbox Live Arcade version. Geezus is it ever awful for today's standards. The engine visuals are the equivelent of the original Counter-Strike. The sound f/x are bad. The gameplay is just not fun and the physics are wonky.

It looks better than counter strike, don't try to downsize it that much because one search on youtube could disprove that. I will agree that the sound f/x are bad, but the gameplay really isn't that bad for a live (etc) title

Did you watch the BS videos on youtube or did you actually play it? The videos and screenshots they were showing around prior to release DID make it look better. Play the game. Its on par or less than.

From what I hear it's competent but not very good.

game looks like ass... looks and plays like something from 1990. i guess for $10 its not terrible, but every time i play it, about 15 minutes in i decide id rather be playing bad company 2. or bf2/2142... i dunno what it is in particular that i dont like about it, but something just rubs me the wrong way.
