by Xav de Matos, Feb 08, 2011 5:00am PSTAccording to TVLine.com, Super Bowl XLV was the highest rated event in the sport's history. Based on ratings data the big game tackled 111 million viewers, besting last year's game by 4.5 million sports fans.
The numbers are certainly deserved since XLV was one of the more exciting championship games I've seen in a very long time--in any sport. The outcome wasn't what I expected but it was entertaining from top to bottom.
Actually, there was a terrible bit in the middle where my television started flickering and the sound started to break apart. No matter how hard I hit my television it just wouldn't right itself and, in some spots, started to get so bad I thought my TV was going to break. But then the Black Eyed Peas got off the stage and everything was cool again.

I didn't get stiffed! Yay. Actually my WE sender sent me an anon message that he wouldn't forget me, and I was cool with it, but I still was a little passive aggressive with my WE posts because I originally had all these really cool ideas of what to do for a write up. My imagination is a lot bigger than my attention span, and the plan was going to take a long time to do. The longer it took to arrive, the less interested I got in making a cool writeup.
I got my gift last week, but I had to put off opening it right away. Then I decided to no even do a write up, so I made a video.

At ~$820 (cost plus one month data) do you guys think Motorola is going to move many of these? I don't see how they can compete with the iPad when the top selling models are the baseline versions which are $500 and $629.

Good lord that game is just beyond epic. Amazing storylines, amazing characters and I really enjoy how in the Mass Effect world what decisions you make in this game might have some bearing in the next. Really makes you think about what you are going to do. Hopefully The Old Republic is similar in that vein.
I'm curious to see how in particular my choices of saving the geth rather than destroying them will affect things along with obviously the choice at the end. I chose to blow up the collector base. Kind of want to go back to a saved game to see how 'saving' the collector ship is different. What exactly happens if you choose that? Care for a quick synopsis?

Anti-piracy efforts from MS and Sony will bring on the next generation of console hardware before developers are looking for updated hardware. Sony is essentially screwed at this point, and what really sucks is I doubt their next system will be backwards compatible. How can they let you play potentially compromised games on their next system without potentially compromising that system as well?
I dunno, its a bummer when stuff like this affects the consumer. I understand the point GeoHotz (or whatever his fucking name is) was trying to make about the Install Other OS option on the PS3, but he sorta ruined it for everyone else when he hacked the console and we'll all pay the price with some sort of serial number, locked number of activations, etc BS with the rest of their games for PS3 and whatever comes next.

I don't know about this at all. It's not really even the gameplay that's bothering me, it's the presentation. Maybe it's the video, but the game looks just doesn't really look finished. The UI's especially hokey. Really disappointing after how nice DA:O's interface felt.
I'm struggling to connect what I'm seeing here with the studio that put out Mass Effect 2. I mean, I know they're made by different teams, but the difference in polish is weirding me out.

At one point he asks if I was using speedtest.net to test the speed (because he saw I had it open.) He told me that it was inaccurate for testing their network and proceeded to browse to speakeasy's speed test.
This amused me for two reasons: One, the irony of using a competing ISP's tool to test your bandwidth is not lost on me. But the much more amusing thing was seeing that "Ookla" logo in the corner of Speakeasy's tool, which is of course the name of the company that does speedtest.net. It's literally the same test, just reskinned (correct me if I am wrong, haiku.) I pointed this out to him and he didn't really say anything.
It was sad because I really liked the guy at first impression, like when I told him what the guy on the phone said and he said "the phone goes don't know anything; they just read off of a screen." But then later he had to go and be all stupid by telling me that my speed loss could be caused by the fact that my wiring setup is Computer->Gigabit Switch->Gigabit Router, because you lose speed at each uplink.
In the end though he did fix the problem (from ~2 mbits to clearly hitting my cap of 20mbits) and I tipped him an Atari 2600.

I'll try to answer as many questions as I can.
It is near Brighton, but outside enough to be in Weld CO which is really good. This means the taxes are much lower and you only have to register car every two years, which is a savings.
I-76 is very close, and is not very traveled so you can get to downtown Denver in 15 - 20 minutes. DIA is a very easy trip.
The house has 2.22 acres (I think around that, may be more). Two years ago we put in brand new landscaping for the back yard. The front was already done.
The master shower has been updated.
For obvious reasons I don't want to put the address up, but it is a division called Jacob's Run, which should get you guys close enough on a google search.

I looked at them on the computer today and they're not too bad but in an age where tablets are becoming more common place and especially the iPad how is it excusable to when you goto gizmodo default you to the mobile site.
