by Garnett Lee, Feb 02, 2011 5:00pm PSTGood Wednesday to you. Mine started out great with some hands-on time with the Witcher 2 over at Atari's offices. Wish I could share that with you sooner but the embargo on coverage is the 24th. It's worth the wait, though. Along with Reach, I finally started the Witcher over the weekend (it was a glorious weekend of gaming for me). It's impressive what they were able to do with Bioware's aurora engine--technology created for 2002's Neverwinter Nights. Granted, the Witcher packs its own rendering engine, but what really stands out to me--from a mere six hours of play--is how well they're able to use relatively dated tools to make interesting characters in a pretty detailed world and then tell good stories. For as quick as we are to get excited about tech, there's a helluva lot more that makes a great game.
LOL, after that stunning revelation, here's the top video game news of the day on the Shack:
They just released Myst Masterpiece Edition (they had released realMyst previously). I had bought the Cyan Complete pack over Christmas and I was debating if I should pick this up. It turns out it is already in my games list. I don't know if they gave it to everyone who had bought realMyst or just the pack or if I shouldn't actually have it. Regardless, it is awesome.

I'm going camping in Joshua Tree for the weekend to get some climbing in and the group I'm going with is doing a potluck on Saturday night. I already have my little Coleman stove for doing oatmeal and bacon in the morning, and I have about 10 pork chops I want to bring to grill up for the potluck but I have no idea what to season/marinade them with. I don't do a lot of grilling, so I'm looking for something easy, as well as something that would let me toss them in the cooler Friday night until it's time to cook them Saturday.
Any suggestions on a good seasoning or marinade that would work for these purposes?

I set up a home recording studio as an Xmas gift to myself this year after not recording anything for many years. Here is the first thing I have created since getting comfortable with the software....
Kind of a mix of styles, cinematic/rock/blues. Unfinished, but this was the result of one days work.

Like, a little earlier I was wandering on top of a ridge with my horse, we slipped, tumbled, and the poor girl fucking died. I was distraught. We'd been through so much together..killed thieves, roamed the lands, picked flowers, sat in front of Bonnie's window and watched her standing there for lengthy periods of time... that horse meant so much to me. So I skinned her and carry her hide with me as a keepsake.
Oh, and those assholes in Thieves Landing shot at me as I rolled in trying to complete a random mission, so I more or less dumped my honor points by killing every motherfucker in the town. Especially the whores. Whoring a sin, so y'all can burn in hell, word?
Also, I thought the Undead Nightmare disc had all of the other DLC and stuff on it, but I guess it doesn't or something? Oh well.
