Evening Reading
by Jeff Mattas, Jan 31, 2011 5:00pm PSTWell, that was quick, January. We barely knew ye.
I'm off to Namco Bandai's Ignite event in San Francisco tomorrow evening to see what they have in store for 2011. And then I'm back up there again at the end of the month for the 2011 Game Developers Conference. As anyone who has been to San Fran will tell you, there are certainly worse cities in which to to spend some time. Being a bay-area native that hasn't been back in a while, I'm really looking forward to it.
And on that note, let's all welcome the last chatty of January with open arms, while casting suspicious sideways glances at February.
Also, here's what's been happening today at the Shack:
Killzone: Mercenary shoots onto Vita on September 10
Trion Worlds hit with more layoffs, Defiance team impacted
Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault defending Vita next week
Game & Wario was originally going to be pre-installed on Wii U
The Last of Us digital download lets you start playing sooner

It was pretty fucking rad

I'm low on ammo and health and the thought of trying to play through that room for the 5th time is making me want to just watch the rest on youtube.
Personally, I liked the first Dead Space a ton and played it through to the end, but this one just isn't grabbing me as much, I guess because it seems to add so little new to the experience aside from fairly random-feeling levels (hello, last half of Chapter 6?)
