Crysis 2 'Pre-Launch' Multiplayer Demo Coming to PC

EA and Crytek have activated "Maximum Good Will" with PC gamers, revealing a multiplayer demo in inbound to PC for Crysis 2.

Word of a demo for the previously PC-exclusive franchise came from Twitter. A message from the official Crysis account reads: "At this time, Crytek & EA are glad to confirm that we'll be releasing a pre-launch Crysis 2 multiplayer demo on PC! Stay tuned for details." Shacknews has contacted EA to see if we can capture some of those details early.

An open multiplayer demo is currently available on the Xbox 360; however, users have detailed a handful of issues hindering their enjoyment, ranging from freezing to difficulty finding matches.

Crysis 2 launches on March 22 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

on Crysis subject, I installd/applied Lifesis and while its nice and pretty it makes my eyes bleed. I know I can tweak it with the deptoffield command or whatever but I would like to go back to the "original" settings, anyone knows how?

Why didn't they just announce this before? Everyone was quite ticked off that there was an xbox only demo., which sounds like it failed.

The 360 MP demo was better than I expected. The suit powers are nicely integrated. Strength and speed are activated when needed automatically while armor and camo have to be activated manually. Gameplay is sort of a mix between CoD and Halo. The one thing I don't like is the lack of a strong contrast between players and the rest of the background and object textures.

Can't wait to try some other maps.

The xbox demo coming before the PC demo wasn't a big deal. In fact, Crytek probably did it in that order to drum up as much console interest as possible since this is the first time Crysis getting a console release.

I just hope the single player campaign is as long as the first game.

The 360 demo really showed off all the things I HATE about MP console FPSes. So far this is a pass. Really hoping the PC version redeems itself. Crytek is letting it all dangle in the wind though if they did a shitty port job. If the KB+M controls, FOV and networking aren't spot on, there will be a skewerin' around here.
