Call of Duty Coming to Sony's NGP; Epic Teases Unreal Engine with Updated 'Epic Citadel' Demo

During Sony's unveiling event for its second-generation PSP, Activision's Philip Earl took the stage to reveal a new title from the house that's powered by World of Warcraft and a pretty popular military shooter.

That shooter, of course, is Call of Duty, and Earl revealed that the critical and commercial smash will come to the Sony NGP (Next Generation Portable). Other than a logo plastered on an image of the upcoming handheld, nothing was revealed regarding Call of Duty's appearance on Sony's new platform. "We believe that NGP will change the way people play games on the go, and what better way to prove that, than with Call of Duty," Earl said.

Epic Games also used the reveal event to feature its work with the successor to the PSP. Revealing the developer/publisher would support the upcoming platform, Tim Sweeney from Epic Games demoed a NGP version of its iOS "Epic Citadel" demo. This time the scene continued past its landscape with "a full living environment and realtime-rendered characters," Engadget reports.

"This is made possible by Sony's multi-core GPU... which is roughly 4x as powerful as any portable we've previously seen," Sweeney mentioned.

Wow, the PSP 3(?) is going to be a beast. I hear that the iPhone/ Touch 5 will have a dual core system with twice as much graphical power, so by the time this thing hits the market the iPhone/ Touch will still give it a run for it's money.

I've never owned a PSP, but I have always wanted one.
