Developers at New York studio Kaos fear they will soon have no choice but move to THQâ€™s new Montreal site or lose their jobs. Concerns are mounting that "some or all of the team will be moving to a studio space in Canada", an inside source told Develop.

Owning publisher THQ has asked many at the studio to work minimum ten-hour days for six months in order to complete the Homefront project. Now staff are turning attentions to what happens when the project is completed.

"If [Homefront] does poorly will we be laid off? If the game does well and we keep our jobs do we get to stay in New York?" the source asked. "As you can imagine all of these questions weigh heavily on our minds, and even more so for those with kids in school, houses, family, spouses with jobs in the area, etcetera. After crunch time is over who wants to be told they have to move to another country or they have been laid off?"

Kaos owner THQ recently opened a 400-person-capacity studio in Montreal. THQ core games boss Danny Bilson said the massive complex would be filled by "people from the community in Montreal and all over the world."

The individual, speaking on the condition of anonymity, confirmed that other staff "are now in a 7-day-a-week crunch", and alleged that "over the holiday many of us were on call and unable to leave to see our family."

And in a brave act of transparency hardly ever seen by games publishers, THQ has allowed Develop to speak to Kaos general manager, David Votypka, to discuss the accusations openly. Votypka corroborated all of the sourceâ€™s allegations in some capacity, though strongly denied that holiday work had been enforced by studio management or THQ.

WoW raid progress!

So how are your guilds doing in raids? Are you doing 10 or 25 man? Which bosses have you downed, and which did you feel were the hard ones? Are you having fun?

My guild has downed all except Al'Akir and Nef at this point. We spent yesterday night wiping at Al'Akir, got the bastard down to 3% at one point and then everything went to hell. We got through P1 many times in a row, and then suddenly 10 wipes with no idea as to why. Feels pretty RNG. :( We'll get him next time I'm sure...

In general, I think the raids are a hoot. One thing that's a bit weird that I just noticed that I actually miss trash. There's very little of it compared to the old days, when it could take an hour to get from one boss to another. Seemed like wasted time back then, but kind of worked wonders for the atmosphere of the dungeons. Now they're just these "holes" you step into, kill a few bosses and get out. Hopefully the upcoming additions along Cataclysm will have some bigger places to explore and wipe in again.

OFFICE PRANKS

I work at a web dev company and got one-upped by a guy today. He cloned a site I was working on, and changed our local DNS so it'd go to his version. He edited it to look as if the passwords were compromised, and needless to say those were a few brick shitting minutes to figure out what had happened.

We're all on OSX, if that helps. I was thinking of incredibly annoying AppleScripts that would automate certain sounds and actions, but there is probably something more evil out there.

That's bullcrap no one will ever need more than 5 digits.

I've been getting skin rashes around my body. They last for about one or two hours and die down, only to appear somewhere else. They flare up periodically around different parts such as the back of my hand, my forearm, my neck (front and back), my back (upper and lower), the front of my thighs, face, and scalp, and it itches like mad every time. It's been going on for two days.

I've taken two types of pills for allergies and they don't seem to work. I wish I had kept my box of Benadryl.

What now :(
