But even with the price and release date now confirmed, a number of questions linger. Looming largest among them, how much will the games cost?
3DS might not be the handheld topic of next week, though. Sony looks poised to finally make the PSP2 official at a special meeting in Tokyo on Thursday. From what we hear it will be much as expected packing dual sticks, a lot of processing power, and a digital only media distribution model. It's also a combination that sounds like it will be expensive.
So, 3DS? PSP2? Both? Neither?
Oh, and Steve, that Duke 'Gone Gold' thread has to happen, right?

So I'm getting EXCESSIVE screen tearing. Got a new rig for Christmas, and it's been becoming more and more noticeable even outside of games (especially watching anything on youtube, or flash related) Thought maybe it was the new monitor, just swapped 2 monitors and still getting it. This is my first time using both ATI and AMD for yeears, hope thats not the problem.

I think i'll try just taking out the video card, and using onboard, and seeing if that identifies the culprit

I happen to follow him through several podcasts I listen to occasionally. On his DH Unplugged show with Andrew Horowitz, he went on a rant about how he doesn't understand Facebook because he thinks posting when you're going on vacation is a boon to burglars. He spoke of the concept of hooking back up with old high school friends with a mocking voice, like it's a retarded concept. He considers Facebook today's AOL. Hey John, just because your High School friends don't know how to use a cellphone because there's no dial tone, doesn't mean the rest of the universe shares your problem.
Then there's his No Agenda show with Adam Curry. Adam is a legitimate loon, and the show WAS pretty much Adam's zany ideas about world conspiracy theory set against John's straight man curmudgeon. It was entertaining, but it's kind of tired and transparent now. Nowadays It's pretty much them both inventing some sinister motive to underly every last world non-event and then asking for donations so they can keep bringing you "the truth." John's effort is pretty much watching CSI and bringing in clips of actors delivering lines they contend are the government's programming. They rake it in. Idiots all over the world send them thousands of dollars for this, and they both admit that it's their new "business model" and chuckle about the "club memberships" and "knighthoods" they give away for specific levels of giving.
His appearances on TWiT are more useful, as most of the time he's got his tech journalist hat on and doesn't have to carry the show. He's best when it's him and the old guys talking about the intertwined past of today's tech leaders, which means he's best when he's talking about his "good old days," and has very little useful opinion on today's trends.
John, you're a relic. Go fart dust and kick them kids off your lawn. Your editorializing isn't worth anyone's time.
