Evening Reading
by Jeff Mattas, Jan 20, 2011 5:00pm PSTWith the deluge of new hands-on preview coverage we've amassed for today, it officially feels like the wheels of 2011 are building up speed, at least as far as hyping new games is concerned.
We've got environmental destruction and repair, a kid with wings, blue anthropomorphic avocados, a six-way race-war, and a couple of 3D shooting galleries. Honestly, who could ask for more?
You want a chatty, you say? Fine then. Here you go. Some folks are hard to please.

I think Angelo's awesome. I don't believe he took a backseat in Restaurant Wars to play it safe, because that's just not who he is. I think he was beaten psychologically into that position from the previous challenges where people accused him of meddling with their dishes. It's a pity, because he could have been the Blais (technical director) of their team.
Mike-I could have made a good front of the house, but I guess he didn't want to be. Of course he is no Fabio. Fabio fucking KILLED IT this challenge, and especially since he also made a dish that was very well received.
Obviously, working with Marcel is always a challenge. He's just a kid, doesn't have the leader in him yet. Angry Dale might have too short a temper but at least when he gets mad, people listen.
Can I go back to Fabio? When Dale went berserk on the servers, it was Fabio who calmed things down. Without him the night wouldn't have gone as smoothly, and not just the front of house but also at the back. He kept things light. I think Fabio got robbed of a win this episode. Blais' concept and the entire team's execution was perfect, but Fabio made things run smoothly. And again, he made a dish that went with the theme and was praised by critics and the public alike. A dessert dish, no less. Contestants usually get booted for dessert!
