I've been getting a lot of email about the upcoming Half-Life patch which features an interface overhaul as well as a netcode overhaul. Word on the street is that we can expect it this week and as early as this evening. (Although doubtful). I'll certainly keep you guys posted on any info I dig up and mirror the file as it becomes available. Check back a few times later today. Nine Inch Nails played in Dallas last night and of course Trent Reznor of NiN being a Quake fan (and having made the ambience track for Quake1) gave a 'shout out' to the guys at id Software during the show as well as a picture on their website with Anna Kang and The Carmack. Thanks James Eykamp and Stephen Payne. Lastly, due to some abuse on the boards I have adjusted the timeline a bit of programming priorities here on the page. I have also disabled nearly 50 accounts. You can read it here.

  • okay. I'm home for the summer now. No good bandwidth, no new computer games.

Just me in my room with no net access for my pIII and quake 3 singleplayer.

i have finished the game in "hurt me plenty." I have now beaten all levels in "hardcore". The time has come for the nightmare bots to DIE.

so far i have taken out Nightmare crash and Nitemare ranger. I know i can beat the q3test levels on nightmare, i'm just expecting a lot of trouble beating all of them (q3dm16 took me forever to beat on hardcore for some reason, and xaero took me a while until i played him for about 30 minutes on nightmare, then hardcore xaero seemed pansy-ass)

I would be happy if i could beat the whole game on nightmare. I know i can do it if i work at it for long enough, and i have all summer. i wonder how many people have beaten all the levels on nightmare. i know a lot of demos went out of people beating nightmare xaero a while ago, heh.
