      IIRC, a patch for CODMW had a faulty sig or something that when the player launched MW2 and tried to MP, it trigged a VAC ban.
      
      Much complaining did ensue, as here were people that never cheated were VAC banned.
      
      So Valve figured out the issue, pushed out the new patch, unbanned those that were affected, and tossed them 2 copies of L4D2. This all within at most 48hrs of the bad patch being pushed out.
      
      Much reneging of the above complaining did ensue.
