Nintendo 3DS Invades Europe on March 25 [Update]

5
Earlier today, North American gamers learned the Nintendo 3DS would arrive in its region on March 27 for $249.99. Moments ago at a press event in Amsterdam, Nintendo of Europe announced release plans across the pond.

Nintendo 3DS will arrive in PAL territories on March 25. Pricing will be based on retail partners throughout Europe. Retailers have yet to reveal prices. It appears that the Nintendo 3DS will also ship in Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black in Europe, much like North America.

Update: HMV UK has added a listing for the Nintendo 3DS on its site, pricing the unit at £229.99. The system is available in either blue or black.

For details on what the system will include, check out our original post from the New York event. Make sure to check back on Shacknews for impressions on the games at the North American event.

Once again we in the UK get completely screwed with the price of another console / electronic device.

in the US you can get it for the equivalent of £156.41($249.99)
yet we in the UK are now made to pay £229.99 ($367.52)
      that's £73.58 ($117.61) more,
even if you look at it before VAT gets added we are still paying £191.66 ($306.23)
Now i ask you Nintendo, Is that Fair pricing???

All of Europe always get the shaft over electronic devices pricing.. But even at 250$ it's certainly not going to invade my wallet..

Since they're adding region locks I think I'll just import the system from North America. Even with VAT and custom charges added the system should come out at around the same price and after that I can buy games earlier and for less money.
