Evening Reading
by Garnett Lee, Jan 17, 2011 5:00pm PSTDespite a pretty exhausting travel itinerary, I'm pretty excited for the quick trip to New York to finally get a chance to really play with a 3DS. On Wednesday, Nintendo promises to reveal its plans for unleashing the new handheld outside Japan at press events in New York and Amsterdam. From what I've heard so far there's not going to be an embargo so I'll be writing impressions from the event as quickly as possible. I'm very curious to see how the hardware holds up to closer inspection, with games to play, and whether it measures up to the to be announced (we hope) price.
Here's the video game news of the day from the Shack to tide you over while you wait:
- Details on Jurassic Park Game Come Out
- Blacklight Sequel Free-to-Play, Microtransaction-Based
- PlayStation 3 Hacker Case Delayed
- CityVille Growing at Breakneck Speed
And a couple random cool things from around the Net:
Mortal Kombat 'Komplete' coming to PC
Xbox One rumors: confirmations and open questions
EA 'building titles for the Nintendo console'
Best of PSN collection coming in June for $40
Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon announced for PC and iOS

I got a problem with on my MBP that can not be described better than annoying as fuck.
Sometimes, randomly (haven't found a pattern) Chrome stops loading websites, and when I quit and reopen it it opens only the google tab and is pretty much pre-frozen on start. The "website loading" animation on the tab is frozen too and there is nothing loaded. You can't open a new tab or anything, its just hung up. Only thing to do is to force quit, but reopening doesn't do anything else, it just opens it pre-frozen. (With only the google.com tab, none of my others).
But here is the weird thing: Not only does any connection not work without saying so (it doesn't say "No connection" it just loads forever on steam and then freezes, and airport says its connected) but other browsers like Firefox, Opera and Safari just freeze as well without loading anything!
Ping with network utility doesn't work either, it just loads forever.
The only thing to fix it is restarting the whole thing and then it all works fine again, my tabs are being restored in chrome and all. Until the next random freeze.
Any tips or suggestions? The connection works fine on my desktop. Couldn't find a similar case on Google.
