Report: Mortal Kombat Roster Adds Goro and Jade

7
It would seem that two familiar faces are headed to the upcoming, rebooted world of Mortal Kombat.

According to fansite Mortal Kombat Online, the latest issue of Game Informer magazine has revealed the classic brawlers Goro and Jade will appear in the new Mortal Kombat.

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon also reportedly noted that the team at NetherRealm Studios is considering an Xbox 360-exclusive roster addition, to mirror the appearance of God of War's Kratos in the PlayStation 3 version.

Although no specific character was named, we feel the obvious choice would be Blinx, Microsoft's prev-gen "time sweeping" cat. Mortal Kombat launches on PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year.

Didn't one of the Epic guys already post on his twitter or some shit about hanging out with the MK guys? I thought it was obvious it was going to be a Gears of War character for the 360 version.

This would actually be cool, looking at the finishers in Gears 3 its a perfect fit.

      BTW Jade and Goro AWESOME!

It's probable, but it makes me lament the lack of interesting Xbox-exclusive characters. Master Chief and the Gears guys (Phoenix or something) are such generic characters and don't have anything approaching the appeal of Kratos. This isn't a criticism of the games (though I don't care for them, either), just the fact that playing as a "Gears guy" isn't nearly as appealing as stepping into Kratos' boots.

That is because the characters from gears and halo only work well in their universe. Which is how it should be. Both of those universes are very different from the MK universe.

the GoW universe is also very unique but the style and characters happened to slot nicely into the MK universe and go well with the other fighters.

MS has some good characters, just not many that suit MK (in their current form).

Lets hope they either transition a character well or just leave it out entirely.
