2. Scale should be increased. A 128 player option would be nice. 64 is expected. Anything less, like 32, and it's not a full on sequel to Battlefield. It's just Bad Company 3.
3. The tracer dart in Bad Company 2, as it is now, is too easy to use. Vehicles, especially air power, should be deadly and feared. Reduce the spawn time on the craft or allow the team commander to deploy large, expensive, automated, and extremely lethal SAM systems around certain points/areas. Then it becomes the work of special strike squads to remove these SAM sites.
4. Infantry combat is not the problem. Battlefield does that well. The real balance work will be on vehicle combat. Fuck infantry only servers. It's not Battlefield without vehicles. Infantry only combat is for small teams and small maps. Go play Halo or CoD. Make areas or regions of the map where vehicles can't go but that's it.
5. No. Squad VOIP. You must work through the chain of command to accomplish effective team wide coordinated maneuvers. People that want team wide voip are asking for Halo or CoD, small team size gameplay. They just don't know it.
6. Key yet finite assets like artillery, satellite scans, supply drops should be under the authority of the general/commander and not squad leaders or grunts. Agree on removing mechanics like automated repair or healing. That should be performed by the grunts. Force the soldiers to help each other out, even if its not a squad they belong to.
7. Agreed. Tanks should be feared. They should be rare, but very tough to kill, yet tank long to repair. Something must be done to encourage gamers to protect and not squander the very valuable and most powerful vehicles like tanks and choppers. If you are worried about everyone getting a turn in the tank then that's what certain, vehicle centric maps, are for. BF2's Euro Forces pack had a very tank and vehicle centric map.
8. You must spawn on a squad leader. You should not be able to spawn at any soldier's location. Squad leaders only.
