It's so lame, but everytime I see a news story about someone dying of menengitis, even the tragicallty young cases, I giggle because meningacocle meningitis just sounds like "miy ninja cock hole" and i'ts really funny when a serious news presenter says it :(((

Otherwise known as the game you should be playing. For those who don't know, it's a free oldschool DM game built on the Quake 2 engine. Essentially, they combined the best parts of Quake and UT. It's come a long ways since I first played it years ago, to the point where I think it's more fun than Quake Live. The problem is that the player base is rather anemic, leading to the reason behind this post:

A few fellow shackers and I have recently begun playing it fairly regularly and we are trying to get more people to join in the action. None of us are really hardcore into DM, but it's an exciting change of pace from other games. I've so far solicited to a few people with positive results, so I imagine there are others who might enjoy playing. If we get enough, a private server may be a possibility, but right now there are plenty of servers to hijack. The existing community has been surprisingly inviting so far, and skill level is all over the board so it's not like everyone playing is godlike (though there are some solid players).

Cat 6 Bulk question

Monoprice has CAT6 solid in bulk. One shacker mentioned I should get solidcore. Is solidcore the same as solid? And should I worry if the monoprice bulk isn't CAT6a? Or is Cat6a only for servers?

"It's a real game changer for us. This allows for a console like experience on the PC." WTF? This comment was paired with the CES 2011 Intel Unveils Sandy Bridge direct from Valve.

As a hardcore gamer and one who favors my PC above all I have to say that Valve's Boss man comment made me cringe and actually feel offended or like Valve has no freeking clue about PC gaming. Shhhh don't tell anyone 4, 8 and 12(math = logic core + HT) cores have been out for a long time, allot of us PC gamers have been gaming with these rigs for years its not new.

Hey Valve I will give you a hint about PC gaming its called a graphics card, google it, its gona blow your mind.

Here is the quote Gabe Newell made in the article.

- With the studio developing Portal 2 with the "Sandy Bridge" specifically in mind, Valve boss Gabe Newell took to the stage at the Consumer Electronic Show and said "It's a real game changer for us. This allows for a console like experience on the PC."

Don't get me wrong Sandy Bridge is awesome and will probably allow all PC gamers to be at least at 4 core for those that are stuck at 2, since the price is so good. But the new 2nd gen Intel HD gpu in it is only DX 10.1 and no where up to snuff to any of our current GPU stand alone cards that we already have. Then again you get that GPU for free in the CPU. The thing is anyone that is a PC gamer would never opt for onboard GPU.

Very weird comment, I don't get it. Our current comps are pimp, I have a 12core i7 980x setup for a while now my comp has been able to smash consoles for years. Shit when I had a quad core I could smash consoles even further back.

What do you PC gamers think of this comment from Valve? Did he have good intentions, maybe I miss interpreted his comment.

haha, I'm looking for a serviced office for an internet startup. No, 256k internet is not good enough, and paying $90 more a month for the privilege of 2Mb is an insult. Although its not as much as $120 for 25GB transfer per month. Wtf.
Next place I'm inspecting has a 50Mb fibre offering, for $100. That's more like it.
