Battlefield: Bad Company 2's Operation Hastings Map Unlocked Across PC, Xbox 360 and PS3
by Xav de Matos, Jan 03, 2011 6:15am PSTIn case you missed it, the bonus fifth map in the Bad Company 2's "Vietnam" expansion, Operation Hastings, has been unlocked for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 gamers.
Last week, PC players showed off their warfare prowess by completing the requisite 69 million team actions to unlock the fifth map in the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 expansion within a matter of days. Although PS3 and Xbox 360 users did not meet the challenge (only reaching 39 and 52 million actions, respectively), DICE decided to unlock the map for all platforms.
"The Community Challenge was won by the PC players who managed to reach the 69 million mark first of all three platforms," an announcement on the Battlefield Blog read. "But, since we want to start this new year with a big of a bang as we ended it, we are enabling Operation Hastings for the PS3 and Xbox 360 as of today!" The bonus map is a remake of Operation Hastings from 2004's PC-exclusive Battlefield: Vietnam.
Now that PC gamers have proven their might in Bad Company 2, maybe DICE will finally bring the "Onslaught" DLC to the winning platform. Or Battlefield 1943. We'll start holding our breath for both right now.
