Battlefield: Bad Company 2's Operation Hastings Map Unlocked Across PC, Xbox 360 and PS3
by Xav de Matos, Jan 03, 2011 6:15am PSTIn case you missed it, the bonus fifth map in the Bad Company 2's "Vietnam" expansion, Operation Hastings, has been unlocked for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 gamers.
Last week, PC players showed off their warfare prowess by completing the requisite 69 million team actions to unlock the fifth map in the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 expansion within a matter of days. Although PS3 and Xbox 360 users did not meet the challenge (only reaching 39 and 52 million actions, respectively), DICE decided to unlock the map for all platforms.
"The Community Challenge was won by the PC players who managed to reach the 69 million mark first of all three platforms," an announcement on the Battlefield Blog read. "But, since we want to start this new year with a big of a bang as we ended it, we are enabling Operation Hastings for the PS3 and Xbox 360 as of today!" The bonus map is a remake of Operation Hastings from 2004's PC-exclusive Battlefield: Vietnam.
Now that PC gamers have proven their might in Bad Company 2, maybe DICE will finally bring the "Onslaught" DLC to the winning platform. Or Battlefield 1943. We'll start holding our breath for both right now.

I'm not well versed in my graphics tech but can someone explain to me why one game is smooth and crisp while the other is rough and less than responsive?

it also appears that the enemy uncaps are in the "dark zone" for each side... which seems like a pretty good solution to baserape, although it does allow armor and those cursed snipers to sit back in the uncap and attack out with relative impunity (even though that almost guarantees a loss). in fact, thats how i noticed it the first time, trying to kill a tank that wouldnt come out... but it could be that i was just in a bad spot and kept hitting the out-of-bounds area when trying to line up a shot... can anyone confirm/deny? i dont typically move up on uncaps, but next time i play ill try to remember to check...

It's the parenting equivalent of telling your kids they wont get something until they tidy the room and then giving them the thing simply because they tidied a corner table
