Morning Discussion
by Xav de Matos, Jan 03, 2011 5:00am PST2010 is over. Time to start clearing space on our shelves for the swarm of new titles hitting in 2011. In the first three months alone we're going to be bombarded with quality titles. Then a steady stream of other anticipated games are going to trickle out. In November we have Uncharted 3 landing and my personal "OMGOMGOMG" game of 2011, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, arrives. Then Gears of War 3 and, well, all those games that have yet to be revealed.
This generation makes me happy to be a gamer. You know who else is happy? Credit card companies and loan sharks; the only two options I use when making mass video game purchases. What I'm saying is, I make bad decisions.

Managed to hit 60 last night on my human rogue. Went and bought myself one of them special flying mounts and I must say that flying around Outlands is pretty awesome.
Speaking of which, I'm in agreeance with Magus: Outlands is pretty cool. I finished hitting 58 in Sithilus which was a complete pain in the ass and immediately got out of there after finishing what few quests I had left. All of the new mobs in Outlands are pretty awesome and that giant Power Rangers looking thing (Fel whatever) that walks around is equally awesome.
How is everyone else doing in the wonderful world of Warcraft?

I also have 97 dwarf solves in addition to those fragments I have saved. I would love to get the staff for my mage but I am not going to waste them. And in regards to the fossil's there is nothing left. So just save them incase they patch something in or turn all 3k in for like 4 gold in gray items.
It is a broken profession based on pure rng. It has a couple neat items like the mounts and pets.
What they need to do to fix it is simple.
Remove certain dig sites
- All of the Twilight Highlands Digsites esp Grim Batol and the other Southern one. Nothing like not being able to get an artifact because a 85 elite is standing on top of it, or it is surrounded by a group of 4 85's that are designed to be killed by a group of npc's.
- Southshore, Red Reaches Fossil Banks, and a few others that span an entire zone.
Even Better than removing dig sites would to let people drop certain sites, and or certain races digsites. (I mean all of those Fossil fragments are pure wastes).
And the biggest is change the 359 epics to be the same as current legendaries. Instead of being a 1% drop make them be made from shards that are a 5-10% drop. So basically you get 10 or whatever of these fragments and then combine them to make the epic.
I have yet to meet a single person who has done Archeology up to it's max level who doesn't despise it. But they put near BiS items on it so until the gear is there for Heroic level Raids people will do it.
