This post, like the one I'll be posting tomorrow night at your regular chatty time is little more than a comments reset to make sure things stay fresh and smooth over the New Years break.

Over break, I hope to hit level 80 in World of Warcraft so I can actually start digging into the high-level Cataclysm content. I'm about to hit 78 and I've been doing mostly quest marathons mixed in with some random dungeons. Queuing as a healer makes that go by so quickly.

What do you guys think Counter-Strike 3 will bring alongside it? I think some kind of Battlefield/Call of Duty-esque levelling system is practically de rigeur nowadays, but how would that interact with the buying weapons mechanic? Is the game too hardcore to let Valve put in silly hats like TF2, or do you think they'd make it somewhat softer like what they did to TF2? (If you remember the earliest videos of TF2, it was a pretty slick modern setting with guys getting their throats slit and stuff).

Just curious. CS is still one of the most popular shooters in the world, so I have to imagine that Valve is prepping another one for release next year or in 2012.

  They should just try to refine CS:S and make the best competitive esports game they can. Improvements in the netcode and hitboxes would be nice. They should take the hostage maps out too and focus on bomb maps. I would hate to see them add leveling and crap from Cod.
