Evening Reading
by Brian Leahy, Dec 22, 2010 5:00pm PSTThe presents are under the tree and it's a long haul until Saturday! Definitely looking foward to seeing what I've got coming to me this year and excited about what I've gotten for my fiancee.
I'm also looking forward to playing some games on my backlog from this year over the short break. What will you be playing on your vacation, if anything?

For me I think the most epic game would be this...This is not an mmo type game but more action along the lines of Fallout but with mmo mechanics i guess.
-Zombie survival/ Tower Defense CO-OP. FPS
-Start out, chump "level 1"
-Shelter building, like a school, or mall, or mountain hide etc.
-You an gain skills as you do things, like scavenge, hunt, shooting, electronics, food growth etc...
-During the day wildlife out, not of baddies, you go out to find things to survive, make computers to improve your defenses, better turrets etc.
-Night time has waves and waves of zombies assaulting.
-Ever few days or every week the zombies or baddies get harder
-How long can you and your friends survive.

If I had to mix up games I'd mash up Total War with Mount & Blade, have a big overarching strategic mode that plays like Total War but have the option to instantly zoom to any unit on the battlefield and control it manually like Mount & Blade. Maybe make it multiplayer and let the players pick "hero" characters so one person could be directing the battle and the others could either just run around fighting or take control of specific companies on the field.
