Evening Reading

After being sick for a good week straight, I just have no gaming energy left right now. I'm much more content to relax and take in some passive media like television and movies right now. Last night I watched the Swedish film for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It was a pretty decent adaptation, but definitely cut out a lot of what was in the book.

I fully understand the need for cutting content from such a heavy book when going to a film, but I'm not sure I would have picked up on a lot of what was going on if I had not read the book. That isn't to say it isn't enjoyable without that greater knowledge, but it moves quickly and simplifies a lot of the plotting for pacing issues.

It will be interesting to see what the US film ends up being, especially due to some of the events of the book.
