Humble Indie Bundle 2 Makes Over Half a Million in Under 24 Hours

7
The second Humble Indie Bundle kicked off yesterday, allowing buyers to pay what they would like for a selection of five independent games and optional donations to two charities. Today, the group announced that it had generated over half a million dollars in just under 24 hours.

The Bundle includes Braid, Cortex Command, Machinarium, Osmos, and Revenge of the Titans for PC, Mac, and Linux with no DRM. Charitable donations can be made to the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child's Play.

The leading contributor is currently Markus "notch" Persson, creator of Minecraft, who purchased the bundle for $2,000.

At the time of writing, the average purchase price is $7.22 with the average Windows user ponying up $5.99. Mac gamers were a bit more loose with the funds, paying an average of $8.14. Linux users, likely starved for gaming, dug into their wallets for an average purchase of $13.56.

A little over half of the purchases made were for the PC, with Mac and Linux tied neck and neck for second and third place. The Bundle will run for almost six more days so there's still time to get in on the action.

Osmos is a great little game with a solid core gameplay mechanic and really soothing soundtrack. Highly recommended.

Yeah! I just finished playing the game for the first time and I really enjoyed it. I think a game like this has a very simple but fun gameplay, so much i think anyone at all could play it with ease. I'm going to let my 2 yr old play it and see how she does :P
