  • Heh, I got both Q3 and UT when they came out, which one did I play?
well, after I went through the reg. game. (ie the lame dm) and tried out the ctf, I just pretty much shelved it. Sure, I whip it out for the longest yard marathons, but thats it...
    IMHO, UT is more fun.
Q3 was just the same old shit, except it had a facelift,...nothing new.
The interface is fuckin aweful on Q3, and everything is command line driven...they built it for the mods, but all the mods/addons/skins/models amount to just putting more Pk3 files in your directory, junking evrything to hell....
UT is much easier to use.....
and I don't know why, and I never really cared to fuck around with it,
I got a V3 3000 and with Quake I got shitty fps, it would go good then suddenly just get like 5fps, while i never had any problems with UT..

What is the point of all this?
It is my opinion, and everyone has their own. So just spammming, "" sux and doesn't mean a damn thing.

    judge

btw UT RULEZ AND QUAKE3 SUX DONKEY NUTS!!!
PLUS they are making Action Unreal Tournament! ENough SAID!

  • Ugh, what the heck is everyone's problem? How is UT really all that bad? Performance aside (it's obvious that UT depends a lot more on your CPU than your video hardware), the game itself is not bad. There aren't any real weapon imbalances; the movement isn't horribly wrong; and while they aren't very detailed, most of the maps are fine - and there are a lot of them.

What exactly is the point of coming down hard on one game - or another? If you can't afford both, then don't cry a river and insist that everyone follow your "wisdom." If you find supreme bliss in Q3 or UT, so much the better... but I really think there are better things to do than hang around the Shugashack writing posts slamming anyone who doesn't think like you do.

As for my position: UT better offline, Q3 better online. UT better interface, Q3 better graphics. Overall - both good games (gasp).
