Guillermo del Toro Reveals 'Insane' from Volition

Taking the stage during the 2010 Spike VGAs, director Guillermo del Toro revealed the upcoming title, bred from his highly teased relationship with THQ.

To say details are slim would be an understatement. Only a few things are known about the game at this time.

It's called: Insane
Del Toro hopes the horror title will make you "shit your pants"
Volition, inc. is working on the game with del Toro
It's coming out sometime in 2013.

That's right. Insane will launch alongside flying cars in the year Two-Thousand-Thirteen. Platforms were not mentioned; however, since the world is ending in 2012, it doesn't really matter.

Annoyingly flickering lighting: check.
Squirming worm-like things: check.
A needle almost stabbing into an eyeball: check.
Title screen that looks like it belongs on an early 2000's nu-metal band album cover: check.

Wonder if they were hassled by Codemasters due to a previously titled game called, "1nsane" - a surprisingly fun little racing game that was hugely amusing at several LAN events I went to back in the day.

Eh... I have my doubts it will be scarier than Amnesia: Dark Descent or even the Penumbra series. Might be too mainstream for that.

But then again THQ are the kind of publishers that don't force their devs to make games more mainstream & such.
