Evening Reading

Both the evening and the weekend are upon us again, whether they've been confirmed or not. Not to mention that Apple named Weekend Confirmed one of the best audio podcasts in its Best of 2010 feature on the iTunes Music Store. I think that deserves a round of applause. Horn tooted.

With the holidays and 2011 right around the corner, overeating and overspending become the current priorities, as is avoiding the bony, groping hands of Old Man Winter. (He's one creepy dude.) Pretty much all of the big games for 2010 have already been released as well, meaning that between now and... well, January, it's backlog clobberin' time. Honestly, I'm just glad to be back into the swing of things after a week of vacation-induced sickness.

So, grab a cup of hot chocolate (or an Irish coffee, if that's your thing), curl up by the fire, and wrap yourself in some nice warm chatty.

he deserves to die for finding me on merc1 and digging a hole to bedrock under me, finding a hole to the nether and pushing me through it while I was afk.

Did you see that one out front with the doors?

So basically it was a touchplate surrounded by four doors. Curiosity got the better of me and I stood on it, closing all four doors around me. Seconds later, the touchplate activated a water canal under the ground which dropped me all the way to bedrock. >:( I laughed pretty hard when it happened, though

      This:
      http://se.shkn.ws/~djr/mc/gmap/index.html?x=585&y=91&z=200&zoom=9
is the new automatic three way switching station.

From there you can reach TroZTown, Skullville, Watchworld, Lamperia, Brickton Ruins and even get close to Penis Island (more boosters need to be made.

This was build with help from several people, but mostly Hemotoxin.

It works for the most part if someone is around it. It seems if the area is left for a bit, some of the carts may be out of place when the area gets reloaded, it happened one of the three times I tested.

With a little work, we can finish the path to penis Island, build a nice station there, and possible even build another switch track so that you can go to PanoraMajor. A track could even be extended to Endor or possibly Wang.

Hemotoxin: the booster you build on the way to Skullville needs to be fixed. It will boost toward Skullville, but now away from there. I tried to fix it but apparently it is in the town claim zone.

        NOTE:

The 'work carts' (the ones the push you going), have about a 2 second cycle, but the buttons to choose the track only activate for 1 second, so it may take a try or two to activate, and even when it does activate, it is about 4 seconds from pushing the button until you are going again, so be a little patient.

There are actually 3 independent auto-switch systems there, packed as closely as I dared. Each has one work cart and two booster carts. One booster to keep the cart going in a cycle, and another to give the work cart enough speed to push you going. (without the second booster, the work cart in the station at my town wouldn't get back into the wait cycle).

There are also a few additional boosters to make sure the cart you are riding has enough speed to make it to the next booster down the track. I think there are 4 of those
