  • Re: Epic Mickey and Any Other Titles Discussed

Can you guys give full disclosure on how much of a game you've played or seen before/while commenting? And not just time but how many levels you've completed or percentage completed.

I appreciate Brian admitted he only played the first three hours, but I'd like to know how far Jeff got on EM. I found myself agreeing with both Brian and Jeff in the first corridors and hours of the game where the camera is a real pain in the ass, but I feel bad that they didn't go farther, Jeff especially.

I know Jeff has to keep cranking out games for TRS and WC, but Epic Mickey really does turn into the "Mickey Zelda" he was looking for and while it's easy to throw darts and call it Epic Fail Mickey, it's a title with a great deal of variety and over 15-20 hours of game play through some incredible environments and amazing boss battles that implement the thinner/paint mechanic in equal measure.
What other game has ever allowed you to turn a boss good?!? And have him hug you after the battle?

I feel bad for anyone listening to the show who might have been turned off the title, or any others, because they don't realize you guys don't finish these titles. Hell, it took Jeff forever to finish RDR and it's Garnett's to-do list for December after it's been picked as GOTY, so what chance does a title like Epic Mickey have to get a real investment of time.

Also, I think it's fair for Jeff to admit that he's back into WOW and that's going to affect how much time he wants to commit to console titles. Was his desire to log back in affecting his enjoyment? Maybe not but sticking to it would have paid off big rewards. For Brian, I think it's wise he quit out, because I don't think it was every going to be the kind of game he likes. But Brian, the combat does get rougher once you get to the pirate stage. :)
