New cars and events are headed to Need for Speed Hot Pursuit in the 'Super Sports' downloadable content pack, announced today by developer Criterion Games.

The $6.99 (560 Microsoft Points) DLC will add the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, GUMPERT Apollo S and Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport horseless carriages to Criterion's high-speed policing game, along with thirteen new new race and pursuit events.

December 21 is when the Super Sports pack will hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, though curiously absent is any mention of a PC release. We've contacted EA for the skinny, as surely no publisher would ever treat PC gamers with anything less than reverence.

Burnout Paradise was their first PC game ever, and as such they didn't have a proper way to release DLC. I expect this one to be better handled.

Funny thing was, I absolutely CERTAIN that the majority of their PC sales for Burnout were via Steam, so they very easily (and still could) have updated it to Steamworks and made the Cops and Robbers DLC etc available.

It's like they don't like money or something.

Basically they didn't have a system in place to protect the DLC, so anyone who wanted it could've just copied it over or something (from what I heard.) I'm not saying they couldn't have made money, lord knows I'd have bought it.
