Two Worlds 2 Gets North American, UK Release Date

12
Two Worlds II will launch in North America and the UK on January 25, 2011, TopWare Interactive has revealed, after it was delayed for reasons nobody could quite agree upon.

Reality Pump's fantasy RPG sequel was originally due to launch in September 2010 but was delayed for, according to North American publisher SouthPeak Games, "heavyweight quality assurance." However, TopWare, the game's European distributor, took issue with this, insisting that it was complete and only delayed to avoid a crowded release schedule.

Delightfully, the confusion between companies continues. Today's press release insists that "contrary to an earlier December press release" from SouthPeak, TopWare has the UK and Irish distribution rights, and says reports that it had to pay for them are wrong.

Crowded release schedule or no, Two Worlds II was released in Europe in November for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. TopWare claims that that over one million units were sold within three weeks. However, given the propensity for confusion, it's possible that they may have instead been fired at the Moon with a giant cannon.

One more thing fuck you SouthPeak and TopWare distributors, publishers suck shit, they only have caused grief and lost sales to the very hard working devs.

For those interested don't wait support the devs indi style directly(they deserve full money), just my two cents on the issue, been following for a long time.

Just curious, I know you love playing games and are always excited about new ones. What were your opinions of the first Two Worlds? How different is this from the first one?

Two Worlds 1 is a very solid RPG hands down if you actually played it for more than 2 hours and did the quests.

Two Worlds 2 takes the game to another lvl it is way better. Personally I think its the best RPG you can buy on any market at the moment, it surpasses even Dragon Age.

Some may say yeah right, I am gona write up a massive review, basically the amount of options, things to lvl, different configurations, play styles is just ridiculous. I mean you make your own spells there is a very in dept spell system where you have to figure out your spells its never been done in any other game.

As well there is make your own alchemy potions, buy music and play it on instruments to make money(RB style its very cool), massive crafting system, the game is massive, millions of quests the best RPG graphics engine that runs very fast. They have also included hardware physx, the sound is pimp cut scenes are done in real time and you can actually move the camera and your character during cuts scene(don`t think thats ever been done either).

There is tone of loot and the loot system is epic since you can upgrade your equipment.

Being bad and pissing off people means something in game, there is allot of choice etc.

Like I said if you want a really hard core RPG that has the most in depth chracter options and gameplay that is fun you really can not look anywhere else. I really think it the most impressive fgame I have played all year nothing compares as far as quality, progression, content, options, a genera taken to the next lvl.

Lock picking is very well done as well as the stealthing, I can not wait to make a rouge char next, it has this rad sneak back stab ability, hard to explain, like splinter cell. Also you run around city tops like in Assassins creed in the game yet its a RPG. There is just too many things to talk about.

Mounts are way better to control now as well, basically they fixed anything that was not the greatest in TW1. The voice overs are all different and very well done.

The progression is mental that they have done to the game. I am gona shut up now and leave the rest for my review.

Ah, thanks for the reply. I'm looking for the "gameplay that is fun" part because you seem (based off of reading your past reviews) much more tolerable of some gameplay stuff that would turn me off.

Some of the stuff that bugged me about the first one: really poor animation, tons of pop-up in the world, stutter issues, world was huge but unpopulated at times, etc.

Gameplay is way way better hands down(note I did enjoy TW1, this is just better), I will answer what has changed for you complaints for TW1 which are 100% valid:

            really poor animation:

Its way better night and day, will post video with my review this week, check YouTube there is allot of gameplay vids around. Especially combat moves are very impressive, swimming looks very cool, well pretty much everything.

tons of pop-up in the world:

Completely eliminated, the new engine is godly compared, you can even tweak the draw distance if you really want with console commands(stock in game setting max looks perfect to me) they use DOF very well, you can turn it off too(I have it off looks awesome).

            stutter issues:

Gone 100%, there is none, slight loading pause only after say you teleported to the other side of the world and you where heavily in another zone. This only happens once a while,. you will see a little loading icon. Other than that loading is practicaly gone, way better than TW1.

On TW1 SSD remove stuttering :) not sure you care but I found this out.

world was huge but unpopulated at times:

I agree, a cool thing they have some sorta wild life mobs that will continue to spawn back this is very cool, experienced it in the Africa zone that I am in now, note the started island does not do this the rest does. Yes to spawning wish they did the mobs too, supposedly in a content patch that will have weather they are gona add that option, not 100% sure but on the forums.

Last comment, if there ever was a game to buy that would let you kick your MMO Wow addiction with Cataclysm just out it would easily be Two Worlds 2.

Just be warned you will be addicted to Two Worlds 2, but unlike Wow it will not matter if you play it every day even though you will want to.

Two Worlds 2 = Nicotine patch for Wow

If you've read some of valcan_s comments.. he's a very passionate gamer and tends to get VERY excited about games. I'm not saying what he says isn't valid.. you just have to understand that his excited levels when discussing games ranges from "Wicke fucking excited" (which is actually on the bottom of the scale) to "Holy shit I'm going to have an anneurism because my joy for this game has asploded my mind". Once you understand this... he has some good and usefull feedback to share. :)

What about the alliegations that it was stripped of a ton of content to make into DLC or that the main landmass is totally empty on the inside, the excuse being that it was "for multiplayer"?

I have not tried Multi player yet, but as for the other stuff, wtf weird I have no idea what they are talking about. I know weather system did not make it in, but it is gona be added for free no idea about the DLC.

Man if they are gona add more content than currently this game is gona be massive.

I am on the African content safari place type land mass right now and I have been their for almost a month there is a shit load of quest and thing to see and do. The main map is massive even the start island is big and if you do ever dungeon it will take you a long time. I had to get obber and go back to the starting island and the burn the shit out of the mobs that rapped me and I sent my minion army of fire and undead minions and shit kicked them while throwing fireballs and poison life leaching spells.
