Super Meat Boy Boxed Special Edition Expected by 'the End of January'
by Xav de Matos, Dec 07, 2010 9:20am PSTCurrently, Super Meat Boy is only available as a downloadable title for PC users; however, soon the indie favorite will receive a limited, boxed special edition.
According to the developer's blog, the upcoming special edition--featuring fantastic box art from Daniel Rapoza--is set to include the Steam version of Super Meat Boy, behind-the-scenes videos, art, and more.
Team Meat hopes the printed version of the game will launch "by the end of January," following the release of the game's level editor. Pricing has yet to be determined, but it "will probably sell for around 20-25 bucks depending on the final price of the printing." The boxed edition will be released independently by developer Team Meat and will only be available for purchase from the dev's site.
Since launch, Team Meat's skinless hero has found his way into the hearts and hands of PC and Xbox 360 owners everywhere--as well as the cross-hairs of Animal Rights group PETA. A Nintendo Wii version was planned but has been delayed.
